The John Lennon’s Patek Philippe court case finally solved

In a huge decision decision, Switzerland’s top court has ruled that John Lennon’s Patek Philippe ref. 2499 rightfully belongs to Yoko Ono. The court rejected an appeal by Italian dealer Maurizio de Simone, ordering the immediate return of the watch to Ono. This verdict concludes a years-long legal battle over the timepiece, stolen from Ono years ago.

Julian de Simone, son of Maurizio, confirmed their role in the whole scandal via Instagram. In a video, he shared their side of the story, revealing his father purchased the watch in 2014 for €600,000 and contacted Christie's to verify its legitimacy. Contrary to rumors, they say they never intended to sell it at that time.  

 

The watch’s legal journey began with Christie's involving Ono, ultimately leading to this ruling. De Simone has promised to share more details, including rare new photos of the watch, now publicly available.
