Bruno Mars Gifts Custom Royal Oaks to Band, Now Four Are for Sale
In 2018, after completing a global stadium tour, Bruno Mars gifted seven custom Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watches to his band, The Hooligans, who have since disbanded.
These solid-gold Royal Oak 15202 watches were designed to commemorate Mars’s 24K Magic album and tour, featuring engravings like “XXIVK” and “Magic” on the case-back. Each timepiece also showcased a unique solid-gold rotor engraved with the initials of each band member.

Mars didn’t stop with the band; he also gave an eighth watch to his then-manager, Aaron Elharar. This distinctive piece, marked with “AE” on its skeletonized rotor, stood out with its blue dial, a departure from the gold dials worn by the band members.

True to the Royal Oak legacy, these watches boast the ultra-thin, classic design made famous by Gerald Genta’s 1972 reference 5402.
Mars publicly shared this backstage moment on social media, proudly stating, “My boys continue to show the world what time it is, and a band that sings together blings together!” However, following the tour, The Hooligans disbanded, and with the onset of the pandemic, the group hasn't reunited.

Interestingly, at least four of these custom Royal Oaks have since been resold, including one formerly owned by bassist Jamareo Artis, whose “JA”-engraved rotor made its way to a Sotheby’s auction, fetching $120,000.
The sale of these timepieces symbolizes the disbanding of the group, scattering their once-shared “bling” across collectors, as the original owners continue to part with these prized gifts.
