Bulgari’s Serpenti just got an upgrade, and yes, it’s mechanical now

27/01/2025

Bulgari just dropped something that we always secretly wished for, but took it as wishful thinking: their iconic Serpenti Seduttori and Tubogas now come with tiny automatic mechanical movements. Yep, the legendary snake-inspired watch just got even cooler.

The Serpenti has always been Bulgari’s crown jewel. From the Tubogas coil designs of the 1940s to the ultra-lux snakes with enamel scales in the 70s, it’s a piece of Bulgari history. Now, it’s being reborn with the in-house BVS100 Lady Solotempo movement. This ultra-compact automatic calibre, just 3.9mm thick, debuts in the Seduttori collection and two Tubogas models in rose gold.

The Seduttori comes in yellow gold, rose gold, stainless steel, and even diamond pavé options, all with sapphire case backs showcasing a serpent-scale rotor. Prices start at €9,400 for the stainless steel Seduttori and jump to €48,000 for the double-twirl rose gold Tubogas.

For Bulgari, this move feels like a big statement: they’re doubling down on mechanical movements for women’s watches, which is certainly a step up. It’s about time the industry recognised that women can appreciate top-notch movements too.

As we’re borderline obsessed with the Serpenti, we can’t wait to see where Bulgari takes this. It’s a big win for anyone who loves watches and a step towards more mechanical luxury design for women.
