F.P. Journe Élégante - a quartz watch you will love
We all know how it goes; quartz watches just don’t get the same love as manual timepieces. Many people simply connect quartz movement to a cheap, plastic watch, and they’re usually right. But what if someone like F.P. Journe, probably the best living watchmaker today, made a quartz timepiece? Let’s see!

Key information about the Élégante
F.P. Journe made this watch special, and even though it’s “just” a quartz movement, he made sure to include some neat additions that separate it from the crowd.

Probably the most interesting thing about this movement is the fact that once you take it off your wrist, it will stop running. Cool, your automatic movement does the same if you don’t wear the watch for a couple of days.
Where Élégante differs is that once you take it back on the wrist, the watch will automatically jump to the correct current time and resume working as if it never stopped.

Still, thinking that it’s just another quartz watch?
Specs
The Élégante comes in a comfortable 40mm or 48mm case made from titanium, which makes it quite light. Certain versions have a diamond setting. With a rubber strap, it’s considered more informal, although any watch from F.P. Journe can be worn anywhere - those who know, just know.

The watch starts at around 50,000 Euros, but expect it to go way higher - after all, it’s the first luxury quartz watch.
