The Glashütte Original Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar 1-36-12-03-02-61 debuted in 2023 as a stainless steel version of the brand’s modern interpretation of the perpetual calendar, now fitted with a blue Louisiana alligator leather strap and folding clasp. The watch features a 42mm case combining polished and satin-finished surfaces, matched with a grey galvanised dial displaying the Panorama Date, weekday and month windows, and a leap year indicator at 12 o’clock. Solid gold Roman numerals are coated in blue, and the blued steel hands offer strong legibility and contrast. Power comes from the in-house calibre 36-12, an automatic movement with anti-magnetic silicon balance spring, 4 Hz frequency, and a 100-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, the movement is elaborately finished and bears the engraved “Q” mark signifying Glashütte Original’s stringent quality standard.
